I volunteered at the Hannah Center when I was at IU, and it is seriously an amazing place. It's full of some of the kindest and most loving people I've ever met, coming together to help others. They provide practical help--free pregnancy tests, counseling, parenting classes, and material help such as diapers; and they've even got a house for women going through problem pregnancies!
This is a way to really make a difference, and to know that everything you give in money, donations, and time goes to help people who need it. It goes beyond politics and rhetoric to reach the people who need it most.
The Hannah-Thon is one of their biggest fundraisers. I'm listening on Spirit 95 today online. And if you're in B-Town, go drop by and check it out yourself!
